May 29     Iowa Legislative Update
Stephanie Bredman is the government liaison for Kirkwood community college and works closely with the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees. She will share what happened in the legislature and also what did not happen, especially related to work force development and higher education. Bill Lamb will make the introductions.

June 26     It’s All About the Words
Steve Semken founded Ice Cube Press n the early 1990’s to provide an opportunity for Iowans to tell their stories. He’ll talk about the challenges of being a small press entrepreneur in today’s Amazon world and also share tips on how to punch up our own writing in our business newsletters and brochures. Dennis Green will make the introductions.

June 19     Road to Waubeek- Discovering Jay Sigmund
Local author Barbara Feller pulls back the curtain on a man who had a huge, and up until now, largely unknown influence on art and literature of the 20th Century. What did Jay Sigmund say to Grant Wood that totally changed the artists approach? Who was his paperboy? You’ll learn how a man born in a tiny town on the Wapsipinicon has had a major impact on our culture.
